The Journey of Collaboration: Trinh Foundation Australia & Enjoyable English

The relationship between Trinh Foundation Australia (TFA) and Enjoyable English (EE) is a unique and evolving partnership that has grown over the years, driven by a shared passion for language, education, and inclusion. This journey highlights key milestones in our collaboration and the impact we've made together.

2015

In May 2015, TFA organized the first Interpreter Training Short Course for Healthcare (Speech Therapy) at Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine in Ho Chi Minh City. The course was funded by Speech Pathology Australia (SPA). Ms. My Linh Ho was one of 15 participants, attending the course designed to improve interpretation and translation skills in the field of speech therapy.

2017

In March 2017, Linh founded Enjoyable English  —an educational initiative based in Hue, to support her community via language learning, offering lessons in English, Sign Language and Vietnamese.

2021

In December 2021, Ms. My Linh Ho became the TFA Interpreter/Translator Coordinator based in Vietnam. During this time, TFA also formalized a partnership with EE to recruit, train, and provide interpreters and translators for TFA’s academic and mentoring programs.

2022

Ms. My Linh Ho launched the Speech and Language Therapy Interpreters' Club (SALTI), which fosters peer learning and knowledge sharing among SALT interpreters. The club also facilitates connections with TFA volunteers and contributors to TFA’s projects.

SALTI members contributed to key projects, including:

  • Translating the 10-month speech therapy course for adults (VNAH-TFA)
  • Interpreting speech therapy coaching/mentoring programs (MCNV-TFA)
  • Involvement in the Beyond Borders Mentoring Programs (TFA)

Present

The continued partnership has assisted TFA to have a ready source of experienced interpreters and translators, who are available in Vietnam and online, and for interpreter training to be coordinated and scheduled as necessary.
