Achievements in Vietnam — 2010  Course Opening

The Opening Ceremony for The Post Graduate course at Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine (PNTU) took place on Monday 6th of September.  University Vice Rector, Nguyen The Dung  and ENT Hospital Director, Dr Nguyen Ngoc Dung shared their vision for the future development of speech therapy services in Vietnam and extended their appreciation to Trinh Foundation Australia as well as AVI for enabling this much needed initiative, using a “Train the Trainer Model” to take place.  Australian Consul General, Graeme Swift attended the Ceremony  in support of Trinh Foundation Australia and PNTU. Mrs Sue Woodward, as representative for fellow Directors Dr Aziz Sahu Khan and Professor Lindy McAllister, congratulated the University on their vision to implement this program and also congratulated the eager post-graduate students on their selection to the course.  Ms Marie Atherton outlined the course and mentioned the support of many Australian Speech Pathologists who will come and give guest lectures blocks and clinical training throughout the two year program.  She spoke of her enthusiasm and commitment to the students to help them achieve the goal of completing the first ever qualification in speech therapy for Vietnam.
